The cast of Las Vegas’ most anticipated new show, OPIUM by Spiegelworld arrived at The Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas in an over-the-top ceremony complete with eccentric space helmets, psychedelic capes, tribal drums, tin foil and plenty of confetti. Creators of the hit show ABSINTHE will begin pre-launch training with the cast of comic performers and musicians from across the galaxy ahead of preview performances beginning March 13 in the OPIUM Theatre adjacent to Rose. Rabbit. Lie.

“After months of planning, it was bloody exciting to welcome the cast of OPIUM to The Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas today,” said Harry M. Howie, veteran Australian theatrical promoter, numerologist and freelance newspaper columnist. “They have been picking up the same cosmic messages I have been following and today’s event marks the beginning of a creative process where we hope to make Las Vegas’ most Las Veg-iest show.” Howie has been the public spokesperson for OPIUM since the project was first announced by Spiegelworld in December.

One of the artists answering Harry M. Howie’s call was internationally-renowned costume designer Machine Dazzle, who created the costumes for today’s arrival ceremony, which surprised guests on The Cosmopolitan’s casino floor.

“I told Mr. Dazzle I wanted to create a press event that would rival anything that South Korea may cobble together for tomorrow’s 2018 Winter Olympics opening ceremony. And he delivered. Who would have thought you could do so much with a car trunk full of cardboard, shower curtains and 3000 plastic spoons?”
