Ellen DeGeneres has halted filming her hit talk show due to coronavirus but she’s still having fun with her celebrity friends.
Unsurprisingly, her comedic antics are finding a big audience on Instagram. The lesbian TV host and comedian has over 85million followers on the platform.
The 62-year-old filmed herself in selfie mode in her backyard attempting to master a basic card trick.

At first she seemed confident. Fanning the cards out so the audience can see them but she can’t, she said:
‘Deck of cards. Ok? They are all different. I can’t see them. I don’t know what card is what.
‘I’m gonna pick a card. I’m gonna call it out and then I’m gonna just find it.
‘Ok. Four of hearts…’
But sadly it was the six of hearts she showed us.
‘Six of hearts… very close,’ DeGeneres said, apparently undeterred.
‘I’m going to try it two more times. Four of hearts!’
This time it was even less close, however – she was showing us a six of diamonds.
And her third attempt to find the four of hearts came out as the five of clubs.
At that point, DeGeneres announced she needed to ‘figure something out’.
‘When you shake it, it will become your card’
Luckily, magician David Blaine gave Ellen a call to show her how it’s really done. And his magic skills are not to be sniffed at.
He explained: ‘If you happen to get the wrong card, and it’s not the four of hearts, you can always just shake it. And when you shake it, it will just change and become your card.’

It’s not the only thing Ellen has been doing to keep herself and us entertained during the COVID-19 pandemic.
As her wife Portia filmed, she phoned her hunky singing friend Adam Levine to wish him a happy birthday. And it turned out he was bored too.

She also attempted a 4,000 piece jigsaw puzzle of a classical ruin. She boldly predicted it would only keep her busy ‘for an hour’.
Moreover she boasted she was good at puzzles: ‘I haven’t done them in a long time, but it shouldn’t be that hard.’

You can find out what happened next on her Instagram account.
DeGeneres and her team have halted The Ellen Show until 30 March to ‘keep everyone healthy’.
But she said: ‘I love you guys and can’t wait to come back. I’m already bored.’
