IN UNITY, WE WILL WIN -- GET TO KNOW THE NEW HRC PRESIDENT: This week, Alphonso David took the helm of the HRC, becoming the first civil rights lawyer and the first person of color to serve as the organization’s president in its 40-year history. Since Trump and Pence took office, LGBTQ people have been under attack by an administration hellbent on ripping away our progress, but David is ready to lead HRC as we take on Trump-Pence -- and all foes of equality -- together. “If we want to win full equality, that’s going to require us to come together, to dig deep, to be resilient, to embrace our differences, to tenaciously defend the most vulnerable among us, to fight with every ounce of determine we have,” said HRC President Alphonso David (@AlphonsoDavid). “In unity, we will fight back and we will win.” More from HRC.

Excited on my first day as @HRC president to join an incredible team. We fight to be treated equally under law. We fight to have our families treated fairly. We fight for society to recognize & respect us for who we are. We fight for the day we can stop fighting. Please join us.
