Palm Springs Public Library Adds New Streaming Services and Financial Resources

The Palm Springs Public Library card just got even more valuable with the addition of Kanopy and Acorn TV streaming services and Value Line, a financial database, as added resources now offered with your library card. Simply go to the Library’s web site at palmspringslibrary.org and click on the Research & eLearning section on the home page to access these new resources. For the streaming services, after entering your library card number you will be asked to set up an account if you do not already have one.

Kanopy is an award-winning video streaming service providing access to more than 30,000 independent and documentary films─ titles of unique social and cultural value from The Criterion Collection, The Great Courses, Media Education Foundation, and thousands of independent filmmakers. Patrons can play 10 titles/episodes a month and the loan period is 72 hours. Patrons can watch from their computer or there is a Kanopy app that is compatible with several streaming devices. Acorn TV showcases British TV and films, world-class mysteries, dramas, and comedies from Britain and beyond. All you need is an Internet connection and a desktop or device to watch online. Acorn TV is currently available on laptops, desktops, and tablets via browser. Acorn TV is a 7-day unlimited pass to watch your choice of shows. This makes it easier to watch a series or “The Great Courses” where you can watch an unlimited number of episodes all in that 7-day period.
