Along with the release of his latest music video "Ease My Mind," Tony winner Ben Platt has opened up about his sexuality in an interview with People Magazine.

In the video, Platt lounges lovingly with openly gay actor Charlie Carver who relaxes his anxiety and quiets his mind. At one point in the video, the camera swirls romantically around the two men as they kiss.

Platt told People the song and video reflected a real-life romance.

"When we were conceptualizing this sort of loose narrative that we wanted to connect through the videos, there was not really any moment where we had to decide it should be about me and a man as opposed to anything else," Platt said. "Because it was just, 'We’re going to represent what this was inspired by,' which was this man that I was in love with. So it was really a no-brainer."

For Platt, this is the "first opportunity to represent my relationships and the men that I’ve loved."

"I’ve been out since I was 12 years old to my family and anyone in my life," he pointed out. "I’ve never sort of hidden that or been ashamed by it. It’s just part of me."

Platt previously hinted at his sexuality in the music video for "Bad Habit," and last week during an album listening party, Platt premiered unreleased music that he casually disclosed were written about men. With his debut album, Sing to Me Instead, Platt is ready to sing his truth.

Welcome to the family, Ben! Watch "Ease My Mind" below!
